Apprentice Climbs the Financial Career Ladder

Posted on 16 Dec 2019

An enterprising apprentice is on the road to achieving his career goal of working within the Financial Services industry after successfully completing a Bury College Business programme.

Arran Palmer was delighted to secure an apprenticeship job opportunity at Excel-A-Rate Business Services Limited, an independent asset finance company and brokerage which is based in Radcliffe. In September 2017, Arran began his Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship where he gained skills in managing systems and customer files as well as gaining a good understanding of how a financial services business operates.

The former The Elton High School pupil used this qualification as a springboard to enrolling onto an Accounting apprenticeship and allowing him to gain further knowledge and qualifications to reach his overall career goal.

19 year old Arran said, “My apprenticeship experience has been excellent. I am really enjoying working in industry and I have great support from my Bury College assessor who visits me regularly. I think apprenticeships give you a great head start in your career.”

Denise Pinder, Excel-A-Rate Business Services Limited Director said, “As a local company, we like to give local people opportunities to join our team and progress their careers. An apprenticeship is a great way to secure recognised qualifications whilst gaining a good grounding of the financial services sector.”
