Morson Group continues to demonstrate a commitment to the Rail Industry as their first cohort of Morson Vital Training (MVT) apprentices achieve their Intermediate Apprenticeship in Rail Engineering qualifications.
During National Apprenticeship Week 2016, the group of apprentices were recognised for their outstanding achievements at a celebration event at the company head office based in Salford. This event reflected their hard work and achievements as well as the benefits of an apprenticeship programme.
In order to gain their qualifications, the apprentices have completed continuous observations and assessments and now have the base skills and knowledge to allow them to progress onto a career in within many of the wide ranging and diverse sectors of rail.
23-year-old apprentice Ryan Reynolds from Little Hulton will now progress onto the Level 2 qualification and is very much enjoying the apprenticeship programme.
Ryan Reynolds said: “I was in and out of work for quite some time until I came across the apprenticeship opportunity at Morson Vital Training. I am really enjoying the outdoor work and like being busy and earning money whilst I’m learning and building a career. I would definitely recommend the apprenticeship route to others.”
The second cohort of apprentices have recently completed their six week training programme and will now go onto complete their Intermediate Apprenticeship in Rail Engineering. The training involved gaining their PTS Initial AC & DCCR, a requirement which allows individuals to work on or near a railway line, as well as a track induction and an overview of powered tools.
Matthew Leavis, Group Training Manager of Morson Vital Training, added: “The hard work, dedication and commitment shown by our apprentices is truly amazing. To have 100% completion is testament to all involved. From the recruitment and deployment team, through to the trainers that offer daily support and guidance; not to mention the determination to succeed by the apprentices themselves. It has been an amazing year working with the group and they have all grown so much. It gives me a great sense of achievement to know they now have the tools they need to forge a successful career, which was facilitated by the Morson group. Myself and my team are eager to grow our programme and offer this great opportunity to more and more of the engineers of tomorrow.”
