The Chief Executives of Bury College and JTL have finalised the details of an innovative new apprenticeship partnership and the exciting opportunities the collaboration will bring to the local area.

Last month, Bury College and JTL announced the new partnership which will initially focus on the delivery of electrical apprenticeships. Charlie Deane, Bury College Principal and Chief Executive, and Jon Graham, JTL Chief Executive, met to agree the specifics of the provision and how this will add value to individual learners – who are looking to learn a trade, and Bury employers – who are interested in hiring new talen.

The partnership will provide young people with the opportunity to develop career-ready skills in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical services both inside and outside buildings and structures. In turn, local employers will benefit from having access to a home-grown talent pool. Ultimately, this new provision will see both partners work pro-actively together to help meet the skills needs of employers and also encourage greater local economic prosperity.

Charlie Dean said, “Bury College is delighted to have confirmed this strategic partnership and we are looking forward to working alongside JTL to offer fantastic opportunities to the community we serve. This partnership agreement will combine JTL’s recognised national reputation for delivering apprenticeship with Bury College’s commitment to develop local employability skills and prepare the next generation for the world of work.”

Jon Graham added, “We are delighted to be forming this new strategic relationship with Bury College. By bringing the strengths of both organisations together, I am confident that we can provide a great learning environment for our apprentice and continue to improve local skills for the building services sector”.
