Bury College Celebrates Apprenticeship Success

Posted on 1 Apr 2016

We caught up with past apprentices this week to find out how they have progressed in the workplace.

Local ex-student Matt Cassell completed his apprenticeship in Leisure Operations and Leisure Management with us at Bury College in May 2015. He did extremely well and is now employed at the college in the sports department. Matt, 24, progressed into sports after obtaining his degree. Clearly thirsty for education and to boost his skills further, he is also now studying towards a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.

Matt said “I have developed my confidence lots during the apprenticeship, and even more so with the support of the team here at Bury College. The course was great for developing sport session planning skills, and is a fantastic opportunity to gain skills in new areas”.

Award-winning Level 2 Childcare apprentice Daniella Hatton completed her Childcare apprenticeship here at the College, and is now employed full-time at Mulberry Bush Nursery in Bury.

Daniella received the Bury College Apprenticeship Award in 2015, an award which is supported by Bury Employment Gateway and Greater Manchester Apprenticeship Hub.

The former Tottington High School pupil said “Bury College has helped me with my apprenticeship qualification which has led to me working in the baby room at Mulberry Bush Nursery where I am really happy”.

Bury College is proud to employ almost 20 of its own apprentices, and champions apprenticeship schemes.
