Electrical Apprenticeship Wires Career Success

Posted on 9 Jan 2018

A father from Bury has undertaken a Bury College apprenticeship and is realising his career dream of training to become an electrician.

30 year old Linford Moran has secured an Electrical Installation apprenticeship working with Six Town Housing after impressing the company during a work trial organised through their Steps To Success tenant employment and training programme. Linford was delighted to sign the contract in January 2017 and has completed a range of exciting projects for their Repairs Direct new works team, which have included installing new bathrooms and kitchens in homes they manage on behalf of Bury Council.

The father of two said of his decision to begin an apprenticeship, “Beginning my Electrical Installation apprenticeship is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Six Town Housing have been great with me and I am really grateful for this opportunity.”

Linford’s day-to-day responsibilities includes changing fittings, running cables and testing equipment, all skills which will go a long way in helping Linford pave a successful career within the electrical industry.

Linford added, “My apprenticeship allows me to gain qualifications whilst working which means I am both competent and qualified to work in this industry. I have recommended the apprenticeship route to many of my friends as I believe this is the right route to go down if you are considering a career change.”
