The event is primarily for pupils and their parents/carers in Years 10 & 11. We feel that it is vital that parents/carers are involved as they are major influencers on the choices their children make. Invitations will be sent directly to the parents f the young people in all of Bury’s High Schools. Other young people looking for education and training will be informed about the event by the DWP and we would encourage to attend early on before it gets busy.

Councillor Shaid Mushtaq, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “The Get Oldham Working jobs fair continues to grow, and last year we had more than 1,500 people through the doors. It is a great achievement to get so many employers and training providers under one roof offering so many work-related opportunities to our residents. Our jobs fair benefits everyone, no matter what your current circumstances are. Whether you are job hunting for the first time, looking to return to work, searching for the next step in your career or even work experience to aid your university application, we would urge you to come on the day and speak with the employers.

Make sure you bring an up to date CV and plenty of copies, so you can hand them out. Dress like you would do for a job interview too – it helps to make a good impression.
